STEP 1 : OPEN a new POWERPOINT presentation file. Right click on the slide. In the popup box, click 'Grid and Guides'. In the Grid and Guides box , set 'spacing' as ‘1’ inch. Check "Display grid on screen". Then click ok.
STEP 2: You get the screen as shown in fig. The slide becomes a dotted page.
STEP 3: Click Insert --> shapes --> curve .
Now your pointer is ready to draw curves or lines that can turn at points , on a click.
STEP 4: On the slide with dots , click at the place, where you want to begin to draw the kolam. Click the mouse where ever you want your line to turn. The line gets drawn automatically.
For each click the line will turn at that point.
STEP 5 : Finally end at the begining point. You will get a shape.
Now right click on the shape drawn. A box pops up . Click "Formet shape".
STEP 6: In the "Formet shape" popup, click "Fill" and select "NO FILL".
STEP 7 : Click "line color" in the "Formet shape" box. select "solid line". In "color" select your desired color (i have selected black).
STEP 8 : Click "line style" in the "Formet shape" box. Set the number as "2".
"close" Formet shape box. You can see that you have drawn a part of the kolam.
STEP 9: when your kolam is complete. Press the “Print Screen” button on your key board.
STEP 10: Open the image editor (I used Photo Filter . You can use Photoshop or any other available image editor) in your computer. From the ‘edit’ menu of your image editor click “paste”. Now you can see the kolam drawn in power point as image in your editor.
STEP 11 : Select the kolam with the help of the square tool. Go to “edit” menu. Click “copy” and “paste as new image” or with crop tool get only the kolam image .
Save the kolam image as “.jpg or .gif “ or of your desired format.
